Norbar Torque Tools has extended its PneuTorque pneumatic torque tools range with the introduction of the new PTS series.
Exceeding the performance of previous tools, the new PTS replaces the PT-72 and houses an efficient air motor, purpose built to improve performance and precision. Extensive testing and development has ensured that the PTS tools maintain Norbar’s core values of accuracy, reliability, durability and repeatability. With a striking new appearance and up to 30 per cent lighter than the previous model, the PTS offers an excellent power-to-weight ratio.
Featuring an improved air motor, designed specifically for this purpose and for use with Norbar Torque Tools tried and tested gearbox range; the PTS also shares common torque reaction accessories with other Norbar pneumatic and electric torque tools.
The PTS torque tool runs up to 60% faster than the PT-72, allowing rapid bolt rundown. In terms of torque control, the new PTS delivers ±3% repeatability and is factory calibrated to better than ±3% accuracy of setting over 20% to 100% of the torque range. It is also fitted with a convenient switch which allows operators to easily alternate between forward and reverse operation.
The enhancements to the PTS mean end-users work safely and comfortably, not only benefitting from extremely low vibration levels, which stay below 0.343 m/s2, but also from class leading, low noise levels of 77 dB(A). A further benefit of the PTS range is that air consumption has been optimised to be as low as possible whilst ensuring the maximum run speeds.
PTS tools are supplied with a robust steel reaction, but are compatible with Norbar’s wide range of standard reaction arms and reaction nose assemblies. Reaction devices can also be purpose designed for particular applications making these tools highly adaptable. Users can also purchase add-on accessories for the PTS, `such as the newly launched Dual Trigger Module (DTM). Designed for a two-handed tool operation, the module keeps users hands out of the reaction zone, and easily attaches between the air inlet port and hose of the PTS, other Norbar PneuTorque models and a variety of other pneumatic tools.
Philip Brodey, Sales & Marketing Director at Norbar Torque Tools, commented:
“The PTS looks to update the technology currently in our series, and is sure to be a hit with operators for its powerful torque capabilities and ease of use.
With models ranging from 500 N·m - 6000 N·m, and the availability of bespoke reactions if required, the PTS will appeal to a variety of end users and is suitable for a wide range of applications across the marketplace.
We’re keen to see how the industry responds to this launch and we welcome operators to turn to the PTS for a tool that is reliable time and time again.”
